Mary Costello at the 2024 AEDEI Conference

  2. Mary Costello at the 2024 AEDEI Conference

It was fascinating to hear Costello talking about her work and all that is behind her stories. I am very pleased to have had the chance to see and hear in real life her dark and meaningful words.

Mary Costello's session at AEDEI 2024 was incredibly thought-provoking as she discussed the major themes and inspiration behind her works, as well as the ethical considerations that are so prevalent, especially, in her latest short story collection Barcelona, from which she delighted us with a reading. It was a pleasure to receive her in Alcalá.

I loved Mary Costello's reading. I had already read two books by her and I left the reading feeling like I could not wait to read her other two. She has an outstanding sensibility, there is something vivid and very human in her writing and it was a privilege to be able to hear them read by her own voice.
