- Nordic Irish Studies Network (NISN)
The Nordic Irish Studies Network (NISN) is an academic association dedicated to the study of the society, culture and literature of the Republic of Ireland, Northen Ireland and Irish Diaspora. NISN aims to promote the study and teaching of Irish Studies, particularly within the Nordic countries. The network organizes seminars, symposia and conferences for scholars, students, teachers and other interested parties to encourage discussion among members on topics of Irish interest.
- The French Society for Irish Studies (SOFEIR)
The French Society for Irish Studies (SOFEIR) was founded in 1981 and it aims to deepen and spread knowledge about all aspects of Irish society, culture and literature in the Republic of Ireland, in Northern Ireland and within the Irish diaspora. The Société Française d'Études Irlandaises works in collaboration with EFACIS and IASIL (International Association for the Study of Irish Literatures) and organises various events during the year in order to bring together researchers working in literature, humanities and social sciences on Ireland. Some publications of SOFEIR are present in the journal Études Irlandaises.
GIS E.I.R.E (Groupement d'Intérêt Scientifique - Études Irlandaises: Enjeux et Réseaux), created in 2019 under the impetus of the SOFEIR board, is a 'scientific interest group". It is a flexible research structure that allows universities to work together on targeted projects in Irish Studies.
From 2023 to 2025, GIS E.I.R.E will focus on the following strands of research:
- 1. Repositioning Ireland in the World: Old Configurations, New Realities
- 2. Human Rights and Democracy in Ireland
- 3. Sensory Ecologiesand Environmental Dialogues (SEEDS)

- The Spanish Association for Irish Studies (AEDEI)
The Spanish Association for Irish Studies (AEDEI) is a non-profit organization that brings together professors, lecturers and students from various disciplines who share an interest in all aspects related to the history, society, art and literature of Ireland. The Asociación Española de Estudios Irlandeses warmly welcomes new scholars on the field, artists or other interested parties and organizes annual meetings to provide an opportunity for members to meet and exchange information. AEDEI's journal, Estudios Irlandeses, aims to address an ample range of issues related to Irish Studies and it has become an international forum for original research in the field.
- The Irish English Network (IrEn)
The Irish English Network (IrEN), with an internet presence at www.irish-english.net, is an international network of linguistic scholars interested in Irish English, the English spoken on the island of Ireland. The Irish English Network is a member of the European Federation of Associations and Centres of Irish Studies (EFACIS) since 2021. Scholars in Irish English are invited to join the network. Membership is free of charge. All interested parties - whether scholars of Irish English or not - are invited to sign up for the Irish English Network newsletter and to use the contact address supplied to let us know of new publications, events or resources of interest.

- Society for Ethnomusicology (SEM)
The Society for Ethnomusicology (SEM) is a global, interdisciplinary network of scholars, educators, students, musicians, activists, curators and institutions engaged in the study of all forms of music from diverse humanistic and social scientific perspectives. It is an inclusive forum dedicated to the exchange of knowledge about the world's music across all cultural contexts and historical periods. The SEM's publications include their newsletter, various electronic forums and - among others - their journal, Ethnomusicology, which is published three times a year.
