Brigid meets Joyce. An Evening with Jan Carson

  1. Home
  2. Brigid meets Joyce. An Evening with Jan Carson

Location: The EUF Centre for Irish Studies, Europa-Universität Flensburg

To celebrate St Brigid's Day (one of the patron saints of Ireland) and James Joyce's Birthday (Feb 2), we are continuing the tradition of the Annual James Joyce Birthday Lecture with a twist!

On Feb 2, we have invited Northern Irish author Jan Carson to join us in Flensburg. The evening will begin with a reading of selections from her short stories, followed by a discussion relative to Joyce's Dubliners, feminism, genre, and place. The evening will end with an author signing, with copies of her books available to buy through the bookstore. Although the event will be held in English, we will also provide German translations of the passages to be read.

Have a look at the University of Flensburg webpage for more information!
