Summer Writing Retreat for PhD and early-career researchers

  1. Home
  2. Summer Writing Retreat for PhD and early-career researchers

This summer, the EFACIS PhD Representatives organised the first summer writing retreat for early career researchers from 11 to 15 August 2025 at the Irish College in Leuven, Belgium.

The concept was quite simple: they gathered as many PhD and early-career researchers as possible, so they could get to know each other, talk about their research topics and, of course, write! Days were divided into blocks of focused writing time alongside workshops on topics including academic publishing and professional development. There was also time to relax, get to know one another better and enjoy the lovely city of Leuven.

The writing retreat was a succes and we hope to repeat this event next summer.
