DCU Online Irish Language Study

I am writing to let you know about an opportunity to participate in a research study and learn the Irish language at the same time. My name is Elaine Beirne and I am a PhD student at Dublin City University, Ireland. My research explores the emotional experiences of learners as they learn a language online.
 
Emotions play an important role in the learning process, often having a significant impact on learning success. This research is important as by learning more about the emotions learners experience in online language learning environments, we will be able to improve the design of courses going forward.
 
Your participation in this study would involve enrolling in a free three week online Irish language course. The workload is estimated to involve three hours of learning per week. During the course, you will be required to answer a number of short surveys following different tasks. Ethics approval for this study was received from the Research Ethics Committee DCU (Ref: RECDCU/2018/044).
 
The study will take place in May 2018. The course in question is called Irish 101. It is an Irish language and culture course developed and delivered by Dublin City University.
