Radboud University’s Irish studies group is led by Marguérite Corporaal, who holds a chair in Irish Literature in Transnational Contexts. The Centre involves scholars who work on the Great Irish Famine in literature, education, the media and heritage; Irish and Irish diasporic periodical cultures; Irish local colour fiction; John Banville; Anthony Trollope; and Irish drama. The centre is the hub of the Gate Theatre Research Network, in collaboration with University of Galway and Charles University, Prague and works together closely with Queen’s University Belfast, University of Helsinki, Irish Heritage Trust and Ireland Park Foundation in its high profile in Famine research.
