Expo Milan 2015

EFACIS was involved in EXPO Milano 2015, the current Universal Exposition being hosted by Milan, Italy. EFACIS contributed to three major events in the Irish Pavillion. On October 18th a presentation on our Yeats Reborn initiative [www.yeatsreborn.eu] was given which included lectures, readings, and a presentation of the Yeats' Reborn website with work translated into over 20 languages accompanied by harp music (performed by W.B. Yeats' granddaughter). On October 19th the Irish film The Price of Desire (2015) was presented, a film concerning the Irish designer and architect Eileen Gray as part of a session on Irish film. On October 23/24th we contributed to the celebration of 1400 years since Columbanus, with a session considering his importance to Europe, Northern Italy and the plans to develop a Columbanus Way. The audience for this session included dignitaries from Bobbio and Pavia and the event included a pageant.
You will find the brochures for each event below. EXPO Milano 2015 was also a great opportunity for EFACIS to communicate at a major international event the important work that we do across Europe on behalf of our members and in the promotion and support of Irish Studies research.
